Good News and Unfortunate News

And oddly enough, they're one in the same.

Equestria Daily posted this article which helped to clarify Hasbro's position on the distribution of its show, especially internationally.  Good news is, Hasbro isn't mad at us.  Bad news is, mad or not, they still have to be taking action against our interests.

One of the concerns which I failed to mention in my last post was the lack of international availability of the show due to the regional restrictions in place on iTunes.  As it turns out, Hasbro is required by contract to withhold the material from specific international markets, granting the local networks exclusive control over the release of the episodes within their broadcasting domain.  Unfortunately, this means that Hasbro cannot make the iTunes episodes available to international bronies and even have to make an effort to remove them from YouTube, all because of some contracts made before the show was popular.

So, my heart goes out to all my non-United States brethren.  Perhaps we can find the details of these contracts and see how long it will be before the episodes will be available worldwide.  In the meantime, I will push forward with my project.

Onward, to better merchandise!
